Project Rockstar 2010 – Application FAQ

Project Rockstar 2010 has been officially announced.

This year it’s being spearheaded by Jeremy Soul, and is going to be set in London and Stockholm (also known as heaven on Earth). I expect this year’s Project Rockstar to be vastly different from last years – different emphases, less hectic travel schedules, hopefully less swine flu… and for the first time ever, the inclusion of both female participants and dating coaches.

Small side tangent:

Soul, Starlight and myself did an experimental “trial run” last week in San Francisco – we took a group of 6 women out on the town, and taught them how to cold approach and talk to guys. Starlight has a copy of the mindmap we came up with over at his blog: http://www.thestarlightblog.com/2010/02/girl-game-girls-get-a-strategy-to-meet-mr-right-in-san-francisco/

The distinctions we came up with are pretty fascinating. Openers work differently, the structure of emotional progression works differently, and going for the “close” goes differently.

It was a great learning experience all around, and I’m sure I’ll share some of the insights with some of my female friends over the coming weeks.

Back to Project Rockstar:

I’ve gotten a lot of questions about if people should apply, how much it’s going to cost, was it worth it, what’s involved, how to write an application etc etc… so I thought I’d answer some of the more common questions here.

Who is this suitable for?

If you are male, or female, and want more out of your life in general, you should consider applying. You are going to learn more than just how to date pretty much whoever you want – you are going to learn about social circles, about different ways to make and manage money, and different ways to live your life. The way it turned out last year, the remaining Rockstars at the end were all around 20-30 years of age. I don’t think that age matters that much if you are committed to making a change if your life. If you think you have what it takes – apply!

How much will/did it cost?

The answer is: it depends. If you live in the UK and you plan properly, you can probably do it for $2,000 or so. If you live abroad, you have to factor in plane tickets to-and-from Europe. I personally spent about $15,000 last year, though that was flying business class to-and-from the US, staying in nice hotels and eating out most of the time. Living in a convenient area in London, perhaps striking up a deal with a local Chinese restaurant to deliver takeout nightly and good planning will go a long way to reducing your costs.

Was it worth it?

Absolutely. Two events stand out to me from last year: 1) When my business started to take off, and 2) Project Rockstar. I saw it as an 8-week investment into improving my life – a chance to get away from old anchors and habitual patterns, and to both do something different and learn about a completely new way of living socially. It really comes down to asking if you’re willing to put on hold everything in your life for 6 (in my case 8 ) weeks, and walk away with more mentors, knowledge, experience, contacts and capabilities than the average person acquires over 2 lifetimes. Over that 8 weeks I also made friendships that will be with me for the rest of my life. Was it worth it? Fuck yeah.

How has life been since Project Rockstar?

I’m not going to go into personal details, but… one of the models we learnt over Project Rockstar was that of Health, Wealth and Relationships. I personally like to add in an extra section that I call “Happiness”. My life has gained momentum in all four areas since the end of Project Rockstar. I am doing things in all four areas that I would never have considered possible before. More importantly, it is continuing to gain momentum, and I have a much clearer picture of where I am headed over the next couple of years.

Will you (Whim) be involved in Project Rockstar 2010?

Most likely yes, I’ll be involved as a mentor. I am keen on teaching some online marketing strategies to the Rockstars for 2010, probably closer to the end of the program. I will also likely teach modules in productivity and efficiency – I taught a Cliff Notes version to the Rockstars as an impromptu session last year, and it blew them (and the lucky Rockstar mentors who got cc’d on the email) away.

What should I write in my application?

Ahhh… The million dollar question. It really depends – what sort of person are you, and how much effort are you willing to put in?

This is almost like a job or college application – take your time, think it through, present your best self, and use proper grammar and punctuation.

Keychain actually has a great guide up here: http://www.adventuresofkeychain.com/2009/06/18/how-to-get-into-project-rockstar-09-directors-cut/ – I actually wish I had seen that last year ;)

Here’s what I did to write my application last year:

  1. Read the entire Project Rockstar 2008 thread. If you’re on The Lounge, you can see the notes I posted up as a summary from it. This year you have the threads from 2008 and 2009 to read.
  2. Read everything Mr M has ever published. This year my suggestion would be read and watch everything Jeremy Soul has up online.
  3. Wrote a preliminary draft.
  4. Mulled over it for a week.
  5. Reread my draft, and rewrote it.
  6. Thought long and hard about what value I could bring to the program – what does someone like Mr M / Soul value? What value can I bring to their lives by being part of Rockstar? What value can I bring to the other Rockstars by being part of the program?
  7. Rewrote my application again.
  8. Gave my application to a bunch of friends who I innately trust, to read and reread and proofread.
  9. Rewrote my application again.
  10. Sent it in.

More tips:

  • Use proper grammar and punctuation. I can’t emphasise this enough.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask. Alex Flair, Micha and myself have all offered to field questions on The Attraction Forums for people interested – so ask away.
  • First-received-first-read. Applications are being taken on a rolling basis this year, so the sooner you get it done, the higher your chances of being selected.
  • Be honest. Present your best self, but tell the truth.
  • Reputation is everything. A lot of you have likely been on Love Systems programs, and have rapport with your former instructors/approach coaches. I’m not saying that it’ll help, but you know a huge part of Project Rockstar is social networking…
  • Go for maximum impact. Get to the point and convey your passion – for life! This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. So make it count.

This city is going to be my end. I love it here even though I never seen anything more then
nightclubs and the hotel. Today wasn’t any different. This day was spent in a huge and air conditioned
seminar room downing at least 10 cups of coffee and few pints of water. A day at the superconferance
is usually like this. A few really interesting classes during the day, that is being followed with
going in the breakout room to help out with exercises. Following all this is either really disgusting
chicken wraps from starbucks or food from Mr. Lucky’s.

The good thing is the networking you make, and all the instructors you will get to meet. We turned up to be a group to be reckoned with during nightime. 4 instructors (Braddock, Future, Prestige & Vercetti) 4 Approach coaches and 4 students. The destination for the evening was Pure at Ceaser’s Palace. A good choice in my mind, the clubs here in Las Vegas are all good(except body english at Hard Rock). This was a night dedicated to the students at least until 2:00 am. I tended to go away a little bit during night when my students already was in set. There’s something about this city that really suits my way of gaming when I go out. I don’t thinl I really crashed and burned once. I tend to go in super direct and just expect them to like my swedish smile, they usually do. There was ton’s of crazy things that happened this night so I’m doing a bullet point.

1. Kissclosing at least 10 women
2. Watching starlight whip out his “thing” in the bar for the women to stroke.
3. getting mayor cockblocks from a fat friend when I tried to pull a same night lay with a mexican girl ” you’re not fucking my friend”
4.Doing one last turn around the casino 7 am just to pull a girl in 3 min, vegas is easy
5. Stopping by the bar at the hard rock before going to sleep, only to be approach by a “working girl”, sitting there talking to her as Daxx decide to do me a favor and tries to “hook us up” thanks.
6. Watching another approach coach cold approach “the pro” and pull here to here room in five minutes, only to se him run down a few minutes later.

Day 07: And Now For Something Different

The What

Things panned out a bit differently today.

In the morning, a couple of us met up with Mr M at King’s Cross Station to head out of town to meet up with celebrity dentist Dr Raj Ahlowalia (of Extreme Makeover and http://www.smilesbyraj.com) for teeth whitening. We had molds of our teeth made there, and given instructions on how to apply the whitening paste over the next few weeks.

What was more interesting was the trip over. Micha and Alex took the train with Bao, and I hopped in K’s car with Mr M and Rowena D, a reporter from the Guardian in the UK who is interested in doing a piece on Project Rockstar. If you’ve ever wondered what success in the wealth sphere of your life gets you, K is the perfect example. This was a nice car. In fact, it’s so nice, I’m attaching a photo:

We sped out of London at some 150 mph to Dr Raj’s office. In all fairness, we were late as we stopped for lunch along the way. It was interesting to see what a mainstream journalist wanted to know about, in terms of both the seduction community and in terms of Project Rockstar. I also had a chance to talk more with K about his philosophy on business – he has this unique ability to take years of experience and compress them into high-level principles that you can apply to any business and to life in general.

After the meeting with Dr Raj I took a nap on the train back into London. Sleeping and napping is becoming something of a luxury in Project Rockstar.

We then had a standup comedy class with Aidan Killian of http://www.aidankillian.com. I knew absolutely nothing about standup going into the class, so it was very interesting to hear Aidan talk about standup in terms of presenting and creating presence rather than actually being funny. We did some very cool eye contact exercises to help make us more comfortable with creating immediate stage presence and addressing an audience and keeping them engaged.

Following standup Vishal, Jeff, Micha and myself headed to the local Chinese place for some quick food. We’ve been so busy that looking our diets has become something of a secondary priority: LondonHunk and R, if you’re reading this, we’re working on it. Hopefully we’ll have someone in to clean our kitchen next week so we can begin preparing healthier meals in-house (it was supposed to happen today but there was an organisational blip).

We then had an hour-long Skype call with Starlight (Jesse), one of the 2008 Project Rockstars. He talked to us about the four hour work week-style businesses he wanted to help us set up, and gave us some homework assignments and brainstorming to do moving forward into the next 8 weeks.

The work is certainly starting to pile up on Project Rockstar, and I may just start using these blog posts as a way of tracking them as we barely have time to do any everyday organisation, being it managing our to-do lists or pinging our social circles.

LondonHunk stopped by in the evening to drop off our green drinks (I love this stuff – it tastes great!)

We then had a nightgame session with various instructors. I headed off to meet Wizard along with Micha and Josh. It was a different sort of night. We met at Loop, which was next to the club we were meant to go to – Jalouse. We chilled for a bit, then went to get into Jalouse. We waited in line for one and a half hours, before getting to the front and being told that we couldn’t go in because they needed more girls in the venue first. At that point our states had dropped to below zero and we made the call to bounce and catch up on sleep and other work instead. It’s a shame that we didn’t actually get to work on our game today, but… shit happens.

Highlights of the Day

  • Quote from Vishal: “Fucking Asians, always looking for the positive in everything.”
  • Speeding down the freeway at 150mph in a AMG CL63.
